MEET KENYA

New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community

Myrtle Beach SC City Council 2027 Election

Meet Kenya Saten Hennigan.

For 28 years Myrtle Beach hasn’t just been where I live — it’s been home, and home is where faith and family come first. I’m the daughter of a Philadelphia police officer and an LPN nurse, so I grew up watching what service, sacrifice, and caring for your neighbor really looks like. I earned my doctorate with honors in Human Service Intervention, Prevention, and Advocacy, and I’ve spent years walking alongside foster care youth as they age out of the system, fighting for better funding and gentler transitions.

My faith taught me that every person has purpose, and my family taught me that we’re strongest when we show up for each other. That’s why I’m bringing that same heart to City Council. For Myrtle Beach, I dream of more job training and apprenticeships so our kids can build good lives right here close to family.

I want to protect our schools and after-school programs because every child deserves a safe place to learn, grow, and be cheered on. And I believe in safer neighborhoods built hand in hand with residents, police, and community leaders — solutions that start with listening and end with action.

I believe education is a must, it’s never too late, and every graduate deserves their moment. I’m running for City Council to help build a better community, one where every neighborhood feels seen, heard, and valued.

My Grassroots Campaign Journey

The road to victory can be paved with my determination and the help of the community support.

My  campaign will thrive because of my deep connections within community.

This election should not be determined by fancy ads or big names; it will be about door-to-door conversations, listening to the needs of every resident, and showing that real change comes from within the community itself.

Through the power of people, my vision for Myrtle Beach SC resonated with so many—and now, I am ready to put those plans into action for a brighter future.

Through partnerships, advocacy, and direct action, we aim to make our community a place where everyone can thrive. Join us in our commitment to building a brighter, more equitable future for all residents!
